Leonard de Vinci à Vancouver

Leonardo da Vinci Does Vancouver

TS_davinci-vancouver.jpg

Watching figure skating and luge in the same day always leaves me anatomically befuddled—just how can one human body land a triple axel while another slides stiff as a board at 80 mph?—so it’s lucky that Olympic oglers can be reminded of basic form at "Leonardo da Vinci: The Mechanics of Man," opening this weekend at the Vancouver Art Gallery (also home to that fab Michael Lin mural). The exhib's 16th century sheets include more than 240 individual drawings and 13,000 words written in Leo's crazy, mirror-image script. See for yourself: a selection of images after the jump. Vancouver-bound? Check The Conveyor Belt for the city's most fashiony finds, and don't forget that Vancouver has the best Chinese food in the world.
