Le cycle en bref

Les technologies de l'information et de la communication sont entrées dans une nouvelle ère de leur développement où le corps humain est désormais considéré comme vecteur privilégié d'information sur l'individu et d'accès au monde.  Ce paradigme du corps entouré des vertus d'une certaine naturalité et d'une objectivité épurée questionne… 

Le cycle de conférences tentera de problématiser la survenue massive des technologies dans le rapport au corps vécu, et dans l'idée de symbiose que le corps peut faire avec la technologie. La visée scientifique du cycle de conférences réside dans la possibilité de penser ces nouveaux rapports entre corps et technologies, tant d'un point de vue sociologique, philosophique, historique que du point de vue sémiologique.

Ce cycle de conférences est une initiative de la Cellule Interdisciplinaire de Technology Assessment (CITA) des FUNDP, Namur, Belgique, et organisée en collaboration avec les Centre de Recherche Informatique et Droit (CRID), le Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire en communication & internet (GRICI) des mêmes FUNDP, Namur, et le Département de communication (COMU), Université Catholique de Louvain.

The Seminar Series in Brief

This seminar series explores the issues raised by the contemporary, growing, technologisation of bodily experience. Technologisation has significantly reconfigured modes of human bodily experience and subjective individuality. Contemporary bodies, while using technologies such as electronic prostheses, become trailed into technologised symbioses all more pervasive and intimate. This transformation fascinates as well as repulses, for it renders bodies monstrous and extra-ordinary in the same time.

This seminar series aims at exploring the very roles and impacts of technologisation upon bodily experience, with a central analytical focus on the various modes and ways of experiencing technologised bodies. This variety will be encapsulated through talks originating from various fields, e.g. sociology, philosophy, history, semiotics, and technology assessment.

This seminar series is an initiative of the Cellule Interdisciplinaire de Technology Assessment (CITA) des FUNDP, Namur, Belgique, and is co-organised with the Centre de Recherche Informatique et Droit (CRID), the Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire en communication & internet (GRICI) of the FUNDP, Namur, and the Département de communication (COMU), Université Catholique de Louvain.
